The Geography Department is part of the Social Sciences Institute of the University of Minho. At present it runs a degree in Geography and Planning, a postgraduate degree at Masters level in Spatial Planning and Management, and Doctoral degrees in four main areas: Human Geography; Physical Geography and Environmental Studies; Geography and Regional Planning; and Landscape Studies.
